Comfort after breast surgery
Breast surgery is not only for cancer. Many women undergo a breast reduction, augmentation, or lift to enhance their appearance or self-confidence.
These surgical procedures offer a relatively short convalescence period, lasting around 6 weeks. As with breast reconstruction, it’s important to prioritize patient comfort and rapid healing. To this end, we offer 2 types of post-operative bra/camisoles to help reduce pain. Used in combination with a silicone bandage and/or serum, they will greatly assist with healing.
Amoena’s Hannah camisole offers comfort following breast surgery involving temporary external drains. The cotton drain pockets are easily removable. These pockets provide support and reduce pain by ensuring that the drains remain securely in place. Once your drains are removed, you can remove the pockets and wear this beautiful camisole at home. It’s comfortable to wear thanks to its ultra-soft cotton fabric and smooth inner seams.
For breast or thoracic surgeries without drains, it’s important to wear a compression camisole, which will reduce edema (swelling) due to the compression it offers, and in turn will reduce pain. The front closure makes this camisole easy to put on and take off. Different models are available for different levels of compression.
Moreover, silicone healing bands provide an excellent additional benefit for patients. In addition to protecting delicate scar tissue, they significantly reduce itching, relieve pain, improve the appearance of scars, and offer faster wound maturation.
